The Knowledge@Guam Initiative (KGI) is the University of Guam’s strategy to establish an integrated system of knowledge management on Guam. KGI serves to unite Guam’s knowledge holders and combine their insights to build a sustainable future for the island community.
More often, communities face issues too complex to resolve through ordinary means, such as the military buildup on Guam. Making decisions that are in the best interests of the community – such as the scope of further military action on Guam – requires public access to reliable information. This information must be readily attainable and available at the neighborhood level. Local communities, businesses, and government agencies just need to work together to organize and integrate the knowledge they already have. Through this website, KGI will host data sets, tools, and resources about Guam.
