The Extension Disaster Education Network (EDEN) forwarded an invitation to CES-ECS announcing a community engagement session with the Guam Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (GuVOAD). GuVOAD hosted Rev. David Myers, Director of the Department of Homeland Security, Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships. Rev. Myers is also a Senior Advisor to the FEMA Administrator. The meeting was held on May 3rd at the Calvary Baptist Church in Tamuning.
The GuVOAD is a network of voluntary organizations and agencies working together to foster efficient delivery of resources to people affected by disaster. It facilitates the provision of comprehensive services in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery by fostering coordination among private and non-profit organizations, government agencies and local businesses.
