In celebration of National Chemistry Week (October 21-27, 2018) and the season, Professor Tedros Bezabeh has given his students a creative way to earn a few extra-credit points. Each year the celebration focuses on a single chemistry topic. Previous topics have included energy, forensics, color, candies etc. This year the topic was “outer space” with the theme being “Chemistry is Out of This World”, focusing on the chemistry of and in outer space. The students were asked to show creativity and wear inspiring costumes that reflect this theme and they certainly did just that.
National Chemistry Week began in 1989, launched by the American Chemical Society, to engage the community and inspire the exploration of all things chemistry. Professor Bezabeh has certainly helped his students put the “A” in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics).
