Discovering and Developing with 4-H & FB Leon Guerrero Students
Yigo, GUAM – On March 8th, 2017, the 4-H Outreach and Youth Development
Program continued with phase 2 & 3 of their STEAM- science, technology, engineering, agriculture and mathematics, workshops. Incorporating both technology and engineering into the day’s presentation and activity.
Case in point: Ms. Glenda Hall of the 4-H Program delivered an attention-grabbing presentation that intrigued not only the students but the aids as well. Followed with a fun project that had the whole entire class on their feet, eager to participate. The day’s presentation exhibited all the amazing engineering and technological advances made all around the world. Presenting on The Republic of China’s Hundred Dragon Elevator, to Singapore’s Marina Bay Sand, to Dubai’s Palm Island and Crescent Moon, all the way to Saudi Arabia’s Diamond Tower and the Euro Tunnel which is an underwater tunnel connecting France with the United Kingdom. The presention of these amazing structures opened these young minds to the bigger and greater opportunities they have for themselves and what the world has to offer them. As well as paving the way to the day’s activity of Shape Strengthen.
Projects like today allow the children to practice hands on activities that give the students the opportunity to imagine, apply and discover their abilities. Today’s presentation widened the window of opportunity for these students to visualize what they can be and where they can go in the future.
