The mission of the K4C program is to improve the quality of life of our youth by teaching them the different things they can do daily that will help prevent cancer.
This year is the 3rd year that the K4C program has been implemented within our local schools. For SY 2013 – 2014, the program was completed in 7 public schools and 1 private school, reaching 51 classes and over 1200 elementary students.
There is a 2-part component of the K4C Program:
Child will take part in the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital curriculum. This program teaches about cells, cancer and healthy life choices to reduce the risk of cancer.
2) Physical Fitness Program:
The Strides for the Cure has prepared a Physical Fitness Program with outdoor activities that will help each child determine his/her fitness level and improve their skills throughout the program.
