4-H Youth Development
On October 14, 2017, the 4-H Program dedicated the day to the Save The Susu Event. This amazing event focused on promoting Breast Cancer Awareness for the month of October. The 4-H Program’s ambitions are collaborating in all aspect around the world and awareness is the greatest agent for change. Being a part of this event raises awareness in the community for families, especially those with youth, that are struggling with breast cancer. Shining light on matters like this allow us to communicate with youth and the community that will bring understanding and how we as, leaders and members can do our part to support those in need. 4-H does its part to promote healthy life style choices. Promoting healthy life style choices is one of the national mandates of our program. Being a Youth Development Program, all aspects of positive developmental stages are implemented, but targeting at risk behavior is one of the important parts of this program. As child obesity and high risk of cancer disease spreads amongst youth, healthy activity and early check-ups are important. Save The Susu is one of the annual events that is the front line for early intervention or outreach for terminal disease.
