3rd Quarter Kick off with A-Club Students
Hagåtña – GUAM, On April 15, 2017, the 4-H Youth Development and Outreach Program attended the A-Club Fair at Agana Shopping Center to recognize youth in the community that are excelling in their academics. With this year themed “Space Explorer’s” 4-H ventured in with trivia questions to exercise the minds of these young individuals all while having fun! Students answered three trivia questions prior to playing the 4-H’s Galaxy Plinko board where they could win all sorts of school supplies.
During this day’s event 4-H focused on the Life Skill Critical Thinking. 4-H highly encourages incorporating Life Skills into all their activities. The Life Skills chosen for this day was Critical Thinking. It was practiced through the trivia questions presented to them which allowed the students to put into thought what is being shared with them to improve the quality of decision making. As 4-H Mentors we want to stress with the youth the importance of strong decision making and encourage them to think things through before making the right choice. Small steps and activities like this teach them skills that will create positive impacts in their life as they grow older and begin dealing with more serious concerns in their communities and the world.
